On Sunday October 15th from 1:30-3:30 pm, Kingston Gallery will ignite with creative energy as performing and visual arts come together in a presentation by Palaver Strings amidst paintings by Julie S Graham and works on paper by Lynda Schlosberg.
Both Kingston Gallery and Palaver Strings are artist-run organizations with a passion for community and art. Palaver’s mission is that art and music can unite people, making societies stronger and more compassionate. Bringing their music beyond the concert hall to engage with new and diverse audiences encourages discussion of social issues, promotion of education and healing, and inspires community to support the arts. Kingston showcases a diverse range of contemporary New England art in a mutually supportive environment that encourages experimentation and growth. As socially engaged artists the members of Kingston Gallery welcome a collaboration with Palaver Strings and look forward to this vibrant exchange.
Each member of Palaver Strings, a Boston based string orchestra, is dedicated to the collaborative interpretation of classical masterworks while connecting with new audiences. The setting for the Palaver performance on October 15th at Kingston Gallery brings work by two gallery artists into the conversation and creates a multi-sensory experience for viewers. On view in the Kingston Main and Center Galleries will be Incidental Matters by Julie S Graham, canvases portraying improbable combinations of paint and color, geometric shapes, reclaimed materials, and inspiration from urban industrial areas. In the Project space will be Interwoven, works on paper by Lynda Schlosberg who with acrylic, gouache and graphite continues her exploration of working with an interconnected network of lines that undulate, and twist and turn, forming illusions of spatial planes that trace the movement of imperceptible energy.
We hope that you join us for this unique and energizing afternoon!
