It’s that time of year. You can almost smell it. Yup - the Boston Marathon is just around the corner and SoWa has a hometown favorite - Patrick Foley of JJ Foley’s Café. Pat may not win the Marathon time-wise, but he sure does a fine job in the fund raising department.
For seven years now Pat has been running and raising money - over $177,000, to date - first for our troops, through Care Paks and the Fisher House and now for Cancer Treatment and Prevention at Mass General Hospital. Pat doesn’t just do this for himself, he does this for family; first for his brother who was in the Marines and did three tours and now his sister-in-law who is in recovery from a bout of cancer. So for the second year in a row, Pat is not just running, he’s running to Trample Cancer.
This annual Fund Raiser is also a neighborhood affair. And you can - and should - join in the fun Saturday night at JJ Foley’s Café at 117 E. Berkeley Street here in SoWa starting at 7pm. It’s a bash with food, drink, a DJ and a raffle & silent auction unlike any you’ve seen before with all sorts of goodies including tickets to all four of the Boston teams; Red Sox, Celtics Playoffs, Bruins and Patriots and a trip to Vegas (baby!).
All donations are greatly appreciated, so even if you cannot attend, you can donate by clicking [here].
And Patrick, good luck and gawd speed!
