Is the Market free to attend?

Yes. There is no cover charge or admission fee to enter.

Is the SoWa Open Market a rain or shine event?

Yes. The Market typically operates rain or shine. In the case of an extreme weather forecast, stay tuned to our social media channels for closure notifications.

Are there places to sit?

Yes. There are two covered seating options: patio and bench seating with umbrellas, as well as seating beneath a covered breezeway connecting the 500 Harrison Avenue parking lot with the pedestrian-only Thayer Street.

Are there bathrooms?

Of course! There are portable toilets along the building to the left of the bar in the main market area, as well as indoor toilets inside the Art and Design Center building (500 Harrison Ave), and inside the Artist Studios building (450 Harrison).

Is the Market family-friendly?

Absolutely. Bring the family and make an afternoon of it!

Is the Market accessible?

Yes. The Open Market and its surrounding galleries, shops, and artist studios are all accessible.

What are the food options?

Each Market features several food trucks, as well as specialty food vendors selling a variety of ready-to-eat and packaged goods.

Are there alcoholic beverages?

Yes. Beer, wine, and other adult beverages are available for purchase for guests 21+, and must be consumed on the premises. No outside alcohol is permitted.

How do I get to the Market on public transit?

The SoWa Open Market is a 10-minute walk or less from the MBTA Orange line Back Bay and Tufts Medical stations, and the Red Line Broadway station. The closest Silver Line 4 stop is at Washington and East Berkeley.

Is there parking available?

Yes. Street and metered parking is free in Boston on Sundays. There are paid lots available at 540 Harrison Avenue, 365 Albany Street, 324 Albany Street, and 274 Albany Street. All lots are $10 cash.
